Vancouver’s own chip music concert series continues with a very special WINTER edition! Get ready for a night of hard-hitting music – created and performed with ingenious usage of hardware + software from chiptune / demoscene / vintage video game roots!
All the way from JAPAN we’ve got none other than chibi-tech – widely regarded as one of the world’s absolute best chip musicians, period. She’ll leave your jaw dropped with her insanely next-level, kawaii-tinged Electro/Dubstep generated entirely from her dual-NES setup!
We’re also incredibly honoured to have Seattle’s Fighter X – a classic, longstanding pillar of the chipscene who throughout the last decade practically defined and popularized live chip music as we now know it.
Locals include Freaky DNA aka Leonard J. Paul, a chip / video game music veteran who has mastered practically every sound chip ever known to civilization. We also have vanchipmusic’s own curator bryface, coming fresh off a prestigious Secret Performer stint at Square Sounds Festival Tokyo and armed with some highly-refined Game Boy jams of his very own – plus some fun experiments using other platforms! Resident DJ Bitcouver will once again be filling the spaces in between with his selection of classic and new chip jams from around the world.
Visuals will be provided by Victoria jack-of-all-trades partlyhuman as well as local visual juggernaut C130!
We’ll also be featuring an INDIE GAME MINIGALLERY consisting of amazing local devs showing off games they’ve been working on – often exclusive pre-release preview builds!
As usual, we’ll start with an OPEN MIC SESSION where up-and-comers can plug into the sound system and share the music they’ve been working on with the crowd! SIGN UP HERE:
